How much diesel is in the tank if the diesel light comes on?

Hi All,

I'm new to the Gen 3 LWB DiD so if you could provide me some info I would appreciate it.

I want to know how much diesel is left in my tank when my diesel light comes on. In my Golf it is specified at 7l and I was wondering if the Pajero has such a spec.

On my own calculations: I filled up with 78 litres of diesel after my light came on. On a 90l( :?: ) tank that will leave me with 12 l of diesel still in the tank...

Is this possible? This will mean you can safely travel another 100km from the moment the light comes on?

Please advise

Regards,

My manual is being scanned by my uncle but I recall it being 11l - I think.

I wouldn't chance driving more than 50km after the light has come on. The diesel pump is lubricated by the diesel so if it runs out you may get some damage. Not worth risking the stretch IMHO.

Skillie, the manual of my 2006 Gen3 DiD LWB states that there are 13 litres left in the tank when the light comes on. I've done 70km with mine after the light came on with a fully loaded roof rack and 5 people in the vehicle at a steady 110km/h.

My Gen 2 2.8 did only 45km after the light came on. So, I do not think that all the cars are the same. Rather fill up before as I stood 40km before the nearest filling station, thought that I will make that 80km. Not good.
