I'm looking at putting up a snorkel onto my Paj, are there more positves than negatives in doing this or should I rather stay original and keep existing air intake as is?
Bennie
Technically there are only positives IMHO.
The only negative may be a poor installation causing rust, the looks (yes some don't like the looks) and the initial cost.

Bennie,
While you do it, also consider extended breathers to your diff's & boxes - no use to save the engine and loose the diff's or boxes!

Do it! It forces cold air into the engine, and thats what you want for optimum consumption and power. And the obvious is the protection against water being sucked in.

The alleged ram effect (and it's influence on power and consumption) is negligable at best. The benefits are cleaner air and improved protection against drowning.Bostokkelos wrote:Do it! The ram effect is negligible but it does take in cooler air than under the bonnet or from the wheel well cavity and the cooler air is more dense giving better combustionSimonB wrote: The alleged ram effect (and it's influence on power and consumption) is negligable at best. Would like to see the Gen 2 (before the blister fender) snorkel installation under the bonnet please?
I am installing the same snorkel and would like to see how the install was done at the airbox...

Hi David
I hope these photos help a bit.....had mine (Gen 2 ) done recently, but still want to do my Blister Fender 3.5 V6, as well as all the diffs and boxes..... on BOTH
Picked up contaminated oil in the diffs on more than one occasion
I can take more photos of the inside of the engine compartment, if you require?
Regards
Achille
