My Pajero started to jump out of 4 Gear on de acceleration and when driving with Speed control on. Is this a major problem and has anybody ells experience the same?
Any Idea what it will cost to fix and suggestions who to take it too?
Mine started jumping out of 1st gear every now and again when cold and accelerating(this on a manual by the way, not the auto). I took it to Centurion Gearbox and Diff center and they replaced the selector fork on 1 and 3, which showed some wear, as well as the clutch retaining plate, which they reckon is a soft spot on the pajero boxes. It wears a few mm and then does not 'retain' as it should. Cost was just over R10000 IIRC but I also had the very expensive clutch plate and some other bearings replaced while the gearbox was out.
Could be that yours also suffer from this retaining plate issue.
