Hi Guys,
I have no experience with Mitsubishi's or Pajero's and am in line for a new vehicle.
I have what seems to be a good deal on a '07 3.2 Did GLS LWB Pajero with 108000 on the clock for R269 000?
What I want to know please is...
Is this a good price?
What is the vehicle like overall? economy? overall maintenance? etc
The more advice the better....
Thanks!

Hi and welcome.
all i can say is
You either love them (Pajero's) or you hate them.
Those that have them, love them and those that dont have them hate them.
Those that had them hate them selfs for not having it anymore.

Sparks,
Good choice (ANY Pajero), and welcome!
I presume it is the new spec - then the price is reasonable. Km relatively high, but not abnormal. I do believe you can get away with about R20K less, though!

Hi Sparks
I agree with Anton, price can be little less based on the mileage.
Regarding the maintenance, the 3.2 Di-D is fairly cheap to maintain, not needing a lot, just short service intervals to keep in healthy, but this is not expensive if you do it yourself. The genuine Pajero parts and good oil are less than R1000.
Economy is not bad at all taking into account the size of the vehicle - I have a SWB and I get ave 10k/l and better on the long road at about 125km/h.
Regarding the vehicle overall - like JohanV said - once you have one, you will like it, through all its ups and downs. Once you have taken it off road, you will not drive anything else. I was not the biggest Paj fan, until I got myself this SWB and let me tell you, after some 8 000 km trip, visiting every light house in SA, some of which you cannot get to - well according to others, but with my SWB, we got there, I will not buy another 4x4 again - hooked for life!
If you feel comfortable behind the steering, buy it, you will not regret it.
Cheers
Johann

I have yet to meet a pajero driver that didn't fall in love with his car.
It's not a platkar and it's not a trail monster but I believe it is by far the best compromise between the 2.

This should convince you. See how just about everybody goes for a Pajero after the first taste.

Hi Guys,
thanks for the info.
I am still a bit confused regarding the price... I believe this is a R600 000 vehicle new, so for not being very old R269 000 seems pretty good? Also, when I go onto websites that work out book value, they say like +- R400 000???
I am not sure if the vehicle is the 2007 or the 2007 facelift, Is there a big difference between the two?
I am attaching pics if that can help anyone decide which model it is!?
Keep it coming!

Sparks,
The price is not bad. This is the "full house" Gen 4 model, and I understand that the traction control technology on it is worth what I can get for my car! You will find it difficult to find it much cheaper, and although the km may be slightly high, these cars can get to 300k+ easily.
I think that the physical condition of the car is more important. If the body and upholstery is perfect, you can know that the owner looked after it well. If you know the owner, or if you can track the record of the car (agents) you can remove most worries about possible mechanical issues.
So, check under the car, check the paintwork, look for accident damage, ensure the oil is "healthy" check for any odd resedues (leaks) in the engine bay, make sure all the seats' adjustment settings work, check with your gutt, and buy the car!
Good luck!
Anton
