Clutch Slave Cylinder

Hi Guys and Gals,

Some advice please. My clutch pedal went to the floor last week and a quick inspection showed fluid peeing out from the slave cylinder. Took it in to an independent shop this morning ... the cylinder is irreperable irrep irepair .... cannot spell the word so lets say its fubar and cannot be reconned. I'm told this is a "stealers only" item and looking at about R 1500, which sounds steep for a small hydraulic cylinder. Tried Parthunt but numbers dont exist any more. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Francois

Francois,

Try Parthunt in Pretoria.
The number is in a 'sticky' on the forum.

Hi Scubadude
Parthunt do still exist; 083 284 7734 Gert
you will certainly find a slave cylinder there.

Eventually got hold of Gert ... got 2nd hand one for R 300 but they are on the far side of Pretoria and I am Carlos (car-less) for the day. Mitspro is "part hunting" (excuse the pun) as I type and I really really hope they can find something ...

Knowing Mitsu, the slave cylinder will be the same as .....

Take it off and tootle off to your local spares shop and ask them to find a replacement.

How damaged is the bore?
Why not have it re-sleeved to the same diameter?

Recently had similar issue, pressing clucth pedal, got no feed back from pedal and pedal not releasing, clucth was not engaging at all. Adjusted the pin behind clutch pedal and cluct pedal was doing its job, sort off.
Replaced the slave cylinder (R725exc for the part) at Rapidmate this week and clutch pedal is releasing properly, pedal feedback when pressing/depressing is sorted.

Only thing I notice is a vibration when pooting my foot on the clutch pedal and it's allmost as the clucth pedal takes very high, when pressing the clucth slightly, the vibration on the pedal goes away.
And when fully pressing/releasing clucth pedal there is no vibration, only when fully out.
