Gen 4 Towbar

I recently swopped my Gen 2 for a Gen 4 naively thinking that fitting a towbar is not a big hassle.
With the spare wheel sitting in the middle of the door it seems there are a few challenges.
Because of time pressure I fitted a Mitsubishi removable towbar but is not happy with the outcome.
As those who have gone this route will know I now have a nearly half a meter steel bar sticking out the rear end of my Pajero when wanting to tow something - never mind the loss in departure angle.
I heard of a modification done to the spare wheel bracket et al.
Anyone with a drawing/photograph and dimensions of something that works?

Refer to this posting which I made some years ago regarding the spare wheel lifter.

Unfortunately I have still not found this item readily available from Mitsu or any other parts supplier directly.

I know what Pajmugu is referring too.

I modified mine (STD Gen 4) and raised the whole story. I'll see if I can find it

Look here:

Post no 76 (page 4) shows what my towbar looks like after I modified it. Cannot find the modification post though:(

Hi there

also had the same problem. Just got new GLX. I ordered the removeable long goose neck one like the Disco has. Hope it is better than the old straight one.
