Front disk: wobbling/shuddering when braking: SOLVED!

I experience a wobbling/rocking effect on the front disks when putting on the brakes. It feels like the disks are not flat and it feels like it grabs and lets go, grabs and lets go while braking. I reckon this is the brake disks that need attention.
Got a quote from the dealers today : R1984-00 for both
Anybody know where I can get 2nd hand disks from a Pajero in a scrapyard, or will a skim do? I read some guys are not fond of skimming. Also, what is the minimum thickness to be had/allowed on the brake disks?

don't skim. It will come back. Rather replace.

I see Powerbrake offer some aftermarket pads and will also try to contact Parthunt for the disks.
Does anyone have experience with either of these two companies?

Are you sure it is the front discs that are the culprits?

I installed Powerbrake's kit on my Touareg (disks & pads).
Perfect.'ll recommend them, for sure.
Don't go 2nd hand! Not on brakes!

I had the front and rear discs skimmed and it didn't last long before the problem was back.
Yesterday I ordered front Power brakes and original rear discs. R2500 for the Power brakes (not cheap) and R2100 for the rear from the agents(holy cow!!).
I'd stay away from 2nd hand discs, might cost you more in the end. Money and health wise.

That aint too bad for the rear ones from the dealers, considering that the rear is a drum(for handbrakes) as well as disk setup in one, I think it is reasonable.

Gerrit,
The shuddering and rocking effect is very prominently from the front - I can feel the shuddering on the steering wheel also, so my guess it is the problem area.
Just spoke to Powerbrake and they quoted me R2491-00 VAT incl for a set of high performance disks and pads + R200 courier costs. Leon reckons on the 3.2DID they sometimes find that the back brakes also cause some problems, but 90% it is the front disks. They sound like they know what they are talking about and also professional.
Powerbrake does not supply the rear brake disks & pads and recommend that you buy them from the dealers.

Thanks. I plan to install myself so it's good to know.
The Power brake discs come with pads for the R2491, which is +- the same price as the original discs with Ferodos , but much better performance.

Gerrit,
I am giving your question more thought.
If the front disks are warped it will more likely cause a shuddering effect seeing that the front wheels have more freedom to move.
The back wheels are fixed and do not have this "freedom" of movement, thus will cause the rocking effect?
