Any ideas and photo's of where and how to install the GME 300 radio in a 2005 LWB Pajero? I was thinking in front of the light in the roof lining.
That is an excellent spot. The only hassle is the microphone cable that could hang in front of your rear view mirror. I have seen it there in another vehicle and it looks neat with the added advantage that the speaker is at ear level.

I was thinking the same thing but had an idea. I would lay a cable from the radio to another spot, say at the arm rest, where I will plug the mic in. So it will be out of the way. I'm not sure how much space is behind the lining and how to fit it neatly. Will go visit some people and see what they say as well
If you remove the cupholders in the centre console, the GME fits very nicely in there. I simply made a little bracket onto which to mount the GME so it's easily removable for when I swop it between vehicles. There is already power available from the plug inside the armrest box, and the antenna cable should be more than long enough.
Hi Guys! MFCW. Fitted mine in the tray in front of cup holders. Works perfectly and when radio removed it looks reasonable. Check photos! Hope this helps!Wit Olifant wrote:If you remove the cupholders in the centre console, the GME fits very nicely in there. On my GLX 2006 model, I simply made a small plate, inserted it into the roof lining above the mirror / lights, and pop rivitted (with a fat rivet) the bracket to it. Now my GME GX 300 has a neat home, easily viewable and at ear height for sound quality. The mike catch I simply screwed (self tappers) into the roof lining above my left ear, a distance away so that the curly wiring is almost flusg with the roof, and NO interference with the mirror. This works well (just wipe down the lining now and then due to grubby gloves!).
The small space on the front console below the radio, I used to neatly fit my Kirisun 27Mhz.
Based on this installation combination I have sold a lot of these combos now.

Just to revive an old thread . . .
After fitting the drawer system and before leaving for KNP, I had to sort the comms. Well, I opted for the roof in front of the rooflights and think it turned out quite ok.Antenna is mounted on the nudgebar, next to the spots. The GME's bracket is fastened to 2 aluminium backing plates through the rooflining.
