My boet and I was trying to convince a friend of his to look at something other than a toyota.

He drove the first Gen3 manual and they phoned me moaning of a juddery clutch. I urged them to run away as I fear it was probably the famous DMF problem. I urged them to look for an automatic as I feel they are easier on the engine and can take more abuse.

They hunted a bit more and found a beautiful 2000 Gen3 GLS 3.2 Di-D Auto with 170'000km on the clock for R140k (same price as I paid for mine with 100k kms more on the clock)

I ran through the all the vitals on the phone and all looked good.

Sounds like he was sold.

Must say, it is easy once you've convinced the guys to drop their prejudice and give a Pajero an honest chance.

Converted my Wifes Uncle to get his Wife a SWB Gen 3 when he replaced her car....now he is contimplating on replacing the Prado for a LWB gen4.

What a bargain !!!!!!!!!!!
