Suspension lift without aftermarket suspension kit
Is it possible to lift the suspension on a Gen 3 without fitting Iron Man or OME suspension kits?? What I mean is, I want to lift my suspension, but I don't want to compromise the soft and gentle ride of my Paj too much. (That was after all why I sold my bakkie and bought an SUV with fully independent suspension).

Any comments or suggestions would be welcome! :)

Hi Superairborne

You could look at having spacers fabricated.
- In the front you would probably be able to put a spacer above the entire strut assembly where it bolts to the body.

- At the rear you would have to put a space in above the coil spring itself. The rear spacer concept was extensively explored and tried by Benhur IIRC. Perhaps he still visits us here?

Just something to consider - the TJM front shocks (struts) that I have on my Gen 3 Pajero came with a spacing ring which can be used to raise the coil spring seat. Apparently it results in about a 30mm lift. So if your shocks are due for replacement then this could be an option for the front.

Let us know what you decide.

Re: Suspension lift without aftermarket suspension kit
There are a few front shock options that have an adjustable spring perch - Bilstein (from Mikem Suspension) and the new Gabriel HDP shocks. These will allow a lift using the std spring, but raising the spring perch on the shock relative to standard.

For the rear, you'll need spacers for the coils - I think Safari Center have them.
