Well it's me and Mitsu again. I do not want ot bad mouth Mitsu but surely something must be done about their spare part listings and prices.
My short story:
I have been battling for months now when buying spares constantly receiving the wrong spares. And do not even try and ask for advice at the garage. They either tell you the vehicle is too old and or the technicians has got no experience on the vehicle.
This past week I took back to Mitsu the third time the spark plug wires and head gaskets for my Blister Fender 3.5.
I got so frustrated eventually spoke to Freek at Mitspro incidently where my heads is refurbishment.
Without hesitating they opted to give me all the advice needed and now I am going to purchase the head gaskets from them. Mitsu kept on supplying the steel plate type head gaskets with all different markings from A-D in thickness.
The price for the spark plug wires were R800-00 and they have now ordered every part number of spark plug wires so that I can check which is which with minor price difference from 800 to 760 for the possible correct ones.
The following was also quoted: Cam Sensor, Crank Sensor at R560-00 each-no pirate as far as I can establish.
I have mentioned before here that htere is some dealers that have a little cheaper pricing than others.
Not the case now it seems . I always ordered at Brooklynee Mitsu because Secunda were too expensive but lately the pricing is excactly the same. Imperial influence here?
My point actually regarding spares for the Blister is that I have to look at 97?98 Models on the list at Mitsu for spares as it seems the 99 model listing is so mixed up they do not even know what is going on there themselves.
A big thumbs for Mitspro who actually advised me on that.
I will say it again: SHAME ON YOU MITSUBISHI: It seems older vehicles are not any progative for you guys anymore.
You are are mostly interested in selling new vehicles. Maybe that is part of the bad omen of being part of Mercedes for so long.
Sorry for being so upfront here but I bought a lot of spares and to run back mostly on a weekly basis to exchange spares and to wait another week or more for some stuff is just a bit too much for me.
Makes me wonder if I should considder buying a Mitsu again

Hi Paw,
I work for a vehicle franchise(Land Rover Standerton), And the best advise I can give you: Always order parts with a full VIN(chassis) nr. In fact, if the parts sales person does not ask for a full VIN, he's not worth his job!
The second thing that count is: As far as I know, according to "law", a manufacturer only have an obligation for ten years to supply parts for a specific model. In other words, if you are able to get parts for your vehicle older than ten years, consider yourself lucky, and expect to PAY for it.
I mostly get all my parts "pirate", but I make sure about the "make". Some pirate parts are the same quality as the genuine parts, only much cheaper. Unfotunately, some parts are "Agents only"!

Regards
