I am considering fitting a snorkel. Is it worth it?
Cleaner air, better breathing?
Before spending the money, i would like to hear from you guys who had one fitted.
Cleaner air?
Possibly, if you drive a lot of gravel roads. The intake is higher off the ground.
Better breathing?
Yes/No, depending on your current setup.
The snorkel loses out on the length of the intake tract, which means some losses.
(Forget about the 'ram effect', unless you travel at 150km/h plus).

Thanks Fuelly Gerhard. So you reckon it is a good thing, if I do a lot of off roading? Water through your intake can do a lot of damage?

Reason: Fuelly? Just call me Gerhard :)
It won't do any harm, and could save the engine from a hydro-lock, which as you said, is often fatal (for the engine).Oubaas wrote:Thanks Fuelly Gerhard. So you reckon it is a good thing, if I do a lot of off roading? Water through your intake can do a lot of damage?
For that price I would buy 2. Best price I found for my Gen 2 was R1800.00
Paid 6500.00 for the tritons snorkel
And with 4e, I would def recomend a snorkel.
