ABS

Hi all,
Some time ago I posted on my handbrake not working which turned out to be a missing globe. Some other holes in the dash also had missing globes so I evetually replaced them this morning (had to wait long for the parts).
Anyway one of the "new" lights now shows the ABS warning constantly.
A very clever way for a 2nd Hand Salesman to hide faults mmm.
Easy to fix as well - just remove the globe again :)

Anyway - where should I go looking first?

Cheers
Pierre

ABS wheel sensors. Follow the wires and clean the connectors.

Maybe take out the sensors themselves, clean and put back.

Also check the connector on the brake distribution block by the brake booster to make sure it is connected properly.

Thanks Marius I'll clean them over the weekend.

If that fails I was thinking of booking it in so they can put the diagnostic machine on which will (hopefully?) point out the faulty/dirty sensor and take it from there.

Is yours gen2 or gen3?

If it's the gen3 you can maybe try my diagnostic DIY?

Nope - 2.5 Blister Fender.

Thought my forum signature would be spesific enough but did some Wikipedia and noticed the Gen3 come out in 1999 already. So I'll edit my signature to be more spesific.
