Gents,
The parts for the long awaited 90k service have arrived in Barberton - From Japan.
The only part we could check for compatibility was the air filter AND IT IS WAY TOO SMALL.
I have searched the net as well as this forum and cannot find a reference to the parts I have(need).
Here is a list of the parts in my possession now and their numbers:
1)Timing belt - MD358549
2)Pulley, valv - MD319022
3)Pulley, Timi - MD140071
4)Adjuste - MD 362861 (tensioner)
5)Oil Filter - MD352626
If anybody has reference material to check their correctness, please respond.
Kind regards
Roelf
4ePikanini,
I knew you would come to the rescue.
Did you guys buy a Mitsu ASA (Aftersales Support Application) CD?
I'll get the parts guy at Mitsu on the phone tommorrow for a long chat. I must get confirmation of the parts I received to be correct (now that we know the wrong air filter arrived in Barberton).
It would be a major train smash if my Pajero is stripped to the bone only to find the belt or pulley or tensioner is the wrong part. It isn't as if another part can be delivered later the same day.
Marius,
If you can see your way open to check the rest of the parts on my post here, I'd be mighty grateful.
Much appreciated,
Roelf
PS: the Caltex Delo 400 Multigrade 15W-40 is already in the workshop waiting to go in - that is the correct oil I presume?

Look carefully and you'll find it available for downloadRoelfleRoux wrote:4ePikanini,

It took me weeks to find the program online.
Delo400 can probably be used but as the 3.8 is more like a racing engine I would get the appropriate helix synthetic oil.
I have seen engines on helix (including my passat 1.8T) and those engines are smooth and spotless.
I get these parts on MMC ASA

Notice that I included the tensioner part number as well. IMHO the tensioner is just as important to change as the belt.

Marius,
You are a star.
1)The part numbers on your list correspond with the numbers on my list - GREAT.
2)The tensioner is included - thanks for the heads-up anyway.
SimonB,
I suspect the wink at the end of your post suggests that I should look carefully at the links you posted on this forum.
Thanks again to this forum for stepping up.

Strange that the download is about 180MB
My version of MMC ASA takes up nearly 4GB.
