I just recently bough a 2004 Pajero SWB 3,2 DiD that was in a car accident, and i am busy fixing it up. I need to replace almost all of the body panels on the vehicle, does any one know where i can find second hand body parts in the greater cape town area, or of any pajeros that are being stripped down?. Thank you in advance
Jannie,
I see this is your first post here, welcome.
By definition you are looking for the impossible. A 2004 Pajero that has body panels to offer-up, needs to have broken down mechanically to a state of total disrepair. Now that is impossible.
Search for a "sticky" on this and other forums where scrap yard sightings are posted. I'm sure you will be able to slowly source the various parts off different scraped Pajeros.
What type of damage was your car subjected too?
Would you consider recording your re-build photographically for our education on how our beloved cars are put together?
Good luck on this massive project,
Roelf

Thank you Roelf
I bought it on an auction for a very good price, and all that was damaged were the bodywork (The car has less than 35 000km). However the insurance deemed it to risky to repair for the owner, and decided to write it off. Apparently what happened, is the previous owner descended from a steep dune in Namibia at too much of a horizontal angle, and the vehicle rolled over on its side. The roof was badly damaged.
Luckily i have been fortunate enough to find all the missing parts by visiting scrap yards, gumtree...etc. I was able to find a complete body of the same model, and had to tow it up to Namibia. The workshop is finalizing the repairs this week, so hopefully i will be able to pick it up early next week
I have been keeping pictures of the project, and will post them as soon as I have a picture of the final product.
Looking forward to driving finally taking it out for a spin
