I did Marcuskraal 4x4 route near Citrusdal about two weeks ago. What a stunning trail. Thoroughly enjoyed it and very impressed with my SWB.
I had just completed a grade 4 steep rocky climb and then smelled petrol in the vehicle. My first thought was that I must have punctured the fuel tank but after inspection I found no sign of any damage and instead saw petrol leaking from the filler cap and flowing down the side of the vehicle and onto the exhaust. I had to turn off the track on to a level section to release the air pressure in the tank and not all the fuel. I did The Dunes in Lamberts bay two days later and the same thing happened. I had to stop to release the pressure very 30 min or so. My 3.8V6 is already thirsty enough without the liquid gold flowing back out the filler cap.
I presume that a breather is blocked? Anyone ever had the problem?
Do I have to remove the tank to check the breather?
Happy New Year to all
