Hey all.
My brakes on my Paj have given up :?
Seems that the brake booster assembly is leaking. Every now and then (most of the time actually) the brakes take and on the second brake, there's nothing  ..... Not lekker when on the highway.

Problem 1: Non in the country.... 6 week wait (TBC)

Probem 2: Its gonna make one seriaaaaaas dent in my bank account. Any ideas on second hand / scrapped vehicles?

Cheers

Kai

Interestingly, apparently mine is the first BK (1rst edition Gen 4) that this has happened too..... and the Gen 3 one dont fit, which is cheaper....

That is something that seldom packs up, so there should be plenty available on the 2nd hand market.

Phone Gert at PartHunt in Pretoria (no in sticky somewhere).

Thanks 4e
Got hold of Gert, but a part number doesnt mean much too him ;)

Now in the process of finding out if I need the silver or black one!!!
At least the cost is a third of a brand new unit. Just not sure its lying on his shelf due to it not working..... :!:

PartHunt has a reputation for "if it does not work, bring it back"

All

Sad news. The booster from Part hunt fitted, but is not compatible with the Gen 4 Pajero.
Query with Mitsubishi came back that the two units look identical, but the wiring is different.

Anyone know of a recently written off Gen 4 Pajero?

Cheers

Please keep me in mind when you hear of a Gen 4 that is written off :? Also, hopefully not one where the brakes failed

Found out something interesting today from our Ozzi mates:

the Gen3/4 Pajero doesn't use a vacuum booster. Its an electro hydraulic unit. ......
