Hi all, I have a 3.2did 2002 model G3

After along time not in use due to an injector moter issue 9 months.
As part of getting it ready for road use, had full service and part of which was they changed the ATF fluid. They put in caltex texomatic and now really battles to be put in drive. After a while when I finally get it to engage drive, and drive it, and I assume warm. Then it all works fine.
Any suggestions?
Cheers spike

i believe these gearboxes are very finicky about which ATF is used. i would advixe you to use the std fluid as bought from the dealers. it is actually not too expensive and worked out cheaper than buying the caltex product i had tried previously.

my symptoms with the caltex were not as bad as yours seem to be but i can definitely confirm that my shofting is smoother with the mitsu product in the autobox

Definitely stick to Agents fluid in your Pajero. They are always cheaper than any replacements. Read my post on all my problems with other brand fluids:

Trust that changing your oil will solve your problem!

And definitely follow the advise on flushing your box!

Dear Gents,
Thank you all for this invaluable advice. This forum is amazing!

Now for my confession... The place that "replaced" my ATF failed to put the right amount in! in fact I had to add an additional 2 lts! and surprise surprise, problem solved!! Will now study the flushing and other advise now and replace the ATF again with the correct and in the correct way! measuring and topping up is trickier than first thought!
Otherwise she is now running beaut!
Tks all...
