Bumper Fitment - Help needed (please??)

I found this Gen 2 Nudge-M bar on the 4x4 Community forum for sale.

Image

Came off a 99 SWB (we have a 97 SWB), and proceeded to try and fit it last night.

First thing I found, when I eventually got the standard bumper off is this tube.. Any idea what its for? No sensor or wire fitted to it, just a tube :?: :?:

Image

I also found that my 'ladder' is around 76cm (o/d), and the brackets on the bumper is around 81cm (i/d), so it won't quite fit.

Image

The plastic bumper on the vehicle had these brackets attached, do I use those to fill the gap (and raise the Nudge-M)?

Image

I just want to make sure before I go around in circles and frustrate myself even more. Had to stop at 8pm last night since our body corporate consists of complaining old people.

Thanks in advance!

That pipe/tube looks like the external temperature sensor (the sensor is inside it)

You can make up spacers for the bumper to make it span the extra 2.5cm on either side, although I find it odd because the LWB Gen2 and Gen2.5 the bumper brackets are interchangeble. You will then need longer bolts.

The other brackets look like those used for the attachment of a nudgebar.

How much did you pay for it? I'd like one if I can get it for a good price

It was off a pre-blister '99, and I paid R3500. I think they're about R8k or R10k new. Seems I need additional brackets, since the nudge bar brackets are too wide and don't lift the bumper flush with the body.

Cleaned and wired up the extra indicators and spot-lights, and will head off to Nudge-M in the morning to see if they have the brackets, alternatively if they can point me to someone that can make me a set. Highly frustrating as you can imagine
