Hello Everyone,
My name is Johannes Kemp.
I was born in Johannesburg on the 5th of October 1967.
I live in Braunschweig in Lower Saxony in Germany. I speak German, English and Afrikaans.
I am an electrical engineer and MD at a German Company.
I have 4 Children - all Boys aged 7, 11, 12 and 13.
I own a Gen 2,5 (V40) LWB 2800 Pajero.
I have made no real mods except Remove the bent and battered side steps and rear mud flaps and fitted 33x10,5R15 BFG AT's.
On the wish list I have a 3.2 DID motor (my 2800 has timing chain and injection pump problems) and Diverse off Road equipment such as a decent roof rack, roof tent, awning, off road trailer, Hilift points etc.
My last 3 offroad trips have been muddy-sandy areas in nort eastern Germany, some Bavarian Alps, and some Mixed areas (Mountains, woods and grasslands) in Poland
I would like to do a trans alp trip, a tour in Andalusia, northern Africa, Namibia, South Africa and Iceland - and many more...
Other hobbies are painting, hiking, sailing, canuing, photograpy and many more...the problem is finding the time to do all these interresting things...
I use a Garmin GPS V with mapsource Europe, South Africa, and various Third Party maps - also topographic maps.
I have been 4x4 ing off road for about 12 years but never on long trips (not more than 2 weeks at a time).
I will post some pics once I have sorted some out.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.
Johannes
