I would like to know, I went 4x4'ing the weekend with a friend in a Ford Ranger auto.

What I would like to know is?

when you are in 4L, what is the throttle response like?
I've seen with the Ramger that when he touch the throttle it is very direct. Only small inputs and it feels as if the auto is taking quickly.

On my Gen3 it feels as if you need about half throttle and it would take.

I hope I could explain it so that people can understand.

Too sensitive throttle response in low range off road conditions is NOT a good thing.

I have often thought that a different throttle response map for low range would actually be a good thing.

Fast throttle response causes the vehicle to lurch, which causes the driver to release the throttle again. The upshot of this is a very jerky way of driving, which I don't like.

I agree, but I would like to know how is the Gen3 3.2 DiD's reponse overall.

The throttle on the gen3 is adaptive for the diesel. It can be jerky but slow movements allow me to have very slow precise movements. Floor it and the ecu knows you want power and gives full power instructions to the diesel pump.
