I would like to know what the influence on fuel consumption and air dynamics would be when fitting a aftermarket 4x4 front bumper on a 3.2 Did?

Hi Jaco,

Here are my expereinces after fitting a Nudge-m replacement bumper:

Pro's:
Better approach angle
Mounting spot for spotlights
High lift jacking points
More protection in the event of hitting something in the middle of nowhere
Got space for a winch if I choose to add 1 later
Got an unstoppable feeling now, have to restrain yourself.... that can be difficult at times
Looks cool :-)

Cons:
Front suspension dropped by 15mm because of the added weight
Need to replace your window washer bottle (That was on my early Gen3)(got reduced bottle size, but still OK)
I may be incorrect, but feel there is slightly more road noise (very little though)
Car is a little longer now
Noticed my headlights were picking up water inside when driving in heavy rain since adding the bumper - needed to check that there is no water being flung by the wheels (ARB looks better on this component)

Unsure:
Impact on airbags - never really sure that this will truly not affect the airbags - any advice is welcome on how this functions on the Paj.

I haven't noticed much more in fuel consumption to be honest (tyres has made the biggest difference due to larger size), but I am on the petrol side of the fence, so a 0.2 difference would go unnoticed...

Hope that helps

Cheerd

David
