Driver Seat height issues

When I bought the Pajero Sport en of July, I did not realize how far the driver seat was leaning backwards.
After a couple of weeks I was experiencing increasing lower back pain, but it took a while to identify the cause, being the angle of the seat.

The problem is, due to my height, if I set the seat more upright, I am pushing my head into the roof! and the seat cannot be set any lower. :x
Agents could not offer any help either.

So, after a very brief "fling" with the Pajero brand, I am defecting.
I have bought a new Defender Puma.

Wishing you all well.

If you are more comfortable in a Defender there must be some seriously strange things going on in your body

Seriously though it sounds to me as if there was rather a bit of heart involved and you are trying to justify the move on some other issues.

Anyway enjoy the Defender. They are iconic vehicles with a cult following but I would not describe them as comfortable. Hope to see you back in the future.

The roof is just too low in the pajero. I have driven over 300 000km in a Defender, never had the same issues.

Must say, the Pajero is otherwise very capable. It actually surprised me in terms of off road performance.
It is just the ergonomics that does not work out for me.
I cannot place my hand (flat) on top of my head, without touching the roof in the pajero.

Jeepers, you must be very tall... :o :o I am 1.91m and fit with loads of headroom, the elcetric seat has lots of settings to make it comfortable!!

Nick, you have a Gen 3. The Sport has a much lower roof. I am 1,94m and also do not fit into the Sport well, but I have a good 10cm spare head space in a Gen 3 / Gen 4.

Jan, have you tried the Gen 3 / Gen 4? They give you super performance with lots of headroom!

Jip, the Gen 3 has a lot of room. I'm 2m tall and I don't have the seat on the lowest setting. I still have a lot of room.

To be quite honest, after looking at the Sport, I would rather buy a slightly older Gen 3/4 for the same amount of money. I just think you get much more car for your money, but that's just me.

Although I prefer a ladder frame chassis, there is merit in the argument that a second hand Gen3/4 is a better buy, but then we must remember - we are talking about two different cars - different in many aspects, right through to market targeted.

Mitsu has done a good job to take the Nissan and Toyota market for Pathfinder and Fortuner on here.

The car gets good rep's: http://www.iol.co.za/motoring/4-x-4/paj ... -1.1373808

I guess it is the old "horses for courses" argument.
