Hi guys

I have a 1996 Gen2 and I'm currently shopping for a set of wiper blades. The guys at Midas in PE say that they don't stock any brand of wiper blades for the Gen2 and that I would have to order them from the stealers.

So off I went to the stealers who can order the set from JHB for a total amount of R696.34

Is that a fair price for a set of original wiper blades?

Surely Bosch would sell wiper blades for a Gen2?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Surely you can fit "universal" blades. Measure the length of your blades and go find the nearest size at just about any spares shop. I fitted some (bought in small old Barberton over the counter of our local spares shop) on my 2006 SWB (when one picked up a tear) and it worked perfectly. At the next service (under maint plan) the dealer replaced all three wiper blades for something like R800, if I recall correctly - luckely not for my account.

I got my hands on the Bosch Aerotwin blades @ R114.08 each. I still have to get the rear wiper blade from the stealers @ R189.35 or replace just the rubber with a Dura Blade, but that can wait for another day!

Try buying some for an Audi A4.... Just under R2000 bucks
