Hi
The clutch on my pajero recently went. Accelerated in 2nd and a loud bang followed by no drive in any gear. Sent it in only to find out the whole unit gearbox flywheel needs replacement. Just about to replace the unit(very expensive).

apparently what happened is the plate overheated and fractured and its a goner. I have read a lot of posts on this forum about the gearbox and DMF issues.

Anyone out there got any advice or things i should check out when i do this.

Thanks

While out also check the clutch retention plate for wear. They tend to wear down over time and lead to some gears slipping out when cold. A solid flywheel can also be machined if you want, but my personal opinion is to stick to the DMF as original.
