I was pleasantly surprised when I took my car for service at East Rand Mits. I complained about the dash and they said the problem can be fixed. Vehicle will be with them till tomorrow as they are waiting for the bracket to be delivered. I am curious to experience the difference.

If you use your Paj off road/bad road you will see how the dash moves up & down

I've just got a Gen 4... and I still have my Gen 3 as well.
I haven't had a chance to take the Gen 4 off road yet, but on the cobble stones around our offices, the Gen 4 is a LOT smoother. My Gen 3 is noisier and not nearly as smooth.
I'm going to see if I can find a corrugated dirt road nearby where I can test both, and I'll post back on the dash rattle/shaking.

On a corrugated road the dash makes me scared, it looks as if it wants to come loose even when deflating tyres and havind done an OME coil and nitro charger suspension, so i will try and explore the options with mitsibishi, but that is about the only thing i have come across that i dislike of my Gen 4.

Just curious - what vehicle did you have before the Gen 4?

Morning gents,
Yip - just back from a Paternoster trip with the return route up the west coast following the 4x4 track along the beach.
Some really bad corrugations, in particular the road from Koiingnas to Springbok via Wildeperdehoek Pass.
I don't think the dash bracket (which was fitted at the previous service) made much of a difference - I trust Chris will have a different experience.
My car is scheduled to go in on Tuesday when two dash experts will have my car for two days to affect a real repair job.
I agree with the general sentiment that the Gen4 is a wonderful car and the dash is the only box that Mitsu didn't tick when they created the car. I also agree with other posts on this subject that the dash doesn't seem to get worse and it certainly doesn't come apart.
Regards
Roelf

OK, dash bracket fitted last week. Tried the car today on a not too bad corrugated road. I think there is an improvement but I am a bit dissapointed. I might have expected to much. Would like to drive with some other SUV on the same road and see what happens. Roelf, I hope those guys that will be dismantling your car will come up with a answer.
