OK, so the problem was not getting the start everytime and had to jiggle the key
frustrating to say the least.
1 - Removed bottom cover of steering column (3 screws)
2 - Removed the electrical part of the switch by removal of the single off-centre screw.
3 - Unplugged the 2 fast connectors
4 - Cleaned the switch with electrical contact cleaner
5 - Replaced all (still no joy)
6 - Cable tied the switch on, somehow the key operation does not turn far enough to get contact - Viola problem solved.
At least the switch is clean, a may as well do if everything is dismantled anyway. Now the car starts first time everytime
