Please help. Returned from coast with a click noise on drivetrain when pulling away after i have. changed to drive or reverse. The pajero has 190000 on the clock.The mechanic (who also has two pajeros). Indicated that the draveshaft has a lot of play. He has enquired about rebuilding but they can give no guarantees. He suggests a new one @ r 14 000.
Can i get a better price somewhere? Any suggestions on other options. Reliability is my no1 priority not price.

the rear driveshaft is carbon fibre hence the ludicrous price.

Any competent driveshaft shop will be able to build you a replacement shaft with UJs for less than half the price.
