Somewhere on this forum I read about the new heavy duty Gabriels
Decided it is just the thing to put on mya 2006 gen 3
But that was where the trouble started
Got them at a great price at Kwik Fit Randburg and we staret stripping emediately Mistake no 1 I remembered my mackie talking aboy the rubbers that need replacement ONLY from the dealers Mits Midrand told us the have stock HaHa The usual story "no but we can get it Take 3 to 5 days Parts manager came to the resque Got it at 1300 today
Lots of wasted time Yesterday started this exersise at 1000 Today swambo droped me at 1130 because she had to go to work
Now the fun starts Got the rubbers at 1500 and started assembling Workers in a huddle Why This thing does not fit at all Called gabriel at there 086 number on the box with a sorry we cant help butwill get someone to call Adrien from design centre Capetown respond vey quick Nise traspired that a coller needed to replace the existing one was not in bot boxes By now it is 1630 Adrian got us onto the rep He will get the collers first thing tomorrow (3rd day) Got back home at 1845 because my lift only stopped working at 1815
Lets learn from this as this is why I post this
Before you start stipping Make sure that you have all thereplacement Pajero components at hand You need 3 different types of rubbers 2 Of them realy nessesary because the old ones will be stuffed One is the collar that the coil spring sits in and the other is the rubber that sits in the top to prevent the topping out (think it is ) The 3rd is inside the collar Mine was ok At the moment there is 6 of each in the country The usual 5 to 6 weeks lead time to import from Japan
By the way I had great service from Kwik Fit They realy tried their best to help me Realy recomendable and the prices are good
I will post tomorrow to tel you ifI am mobile or have to revert back to my mazda baby to go back to Bots where I work (this saga already cost me a days leave)
