Steel wool + C-Thru = Clean Windscreen
Every now and then one discovers something which can be classified as "a great tip".

This was one of them.

I always regarded the 'muti' on the spares counter that promotes a clear windscreen without your wipers in the same category as the little bottles with the rusted nail in. :D

I did the Touareg's windscreen this past weekend, using the above video as my tutor.
In stead of Rain X, I used Wynn's C-Thru

I was a bit wary of using steel wool on the glass, but it turned out 100%.
Even before the C-Thru was applied, the glass was so much smoother than previously.

The C-Thru applied easily, buffed up to a smooth shine and the results are amazing.

I think the C-Thru on the wiper blades is important.

Previously the (very long beam type) wipers tended to judder, especially when there was only light rain falling. Now it is as smooth as anything.

Next weekend I will do the other windows.

Who would have thought! This just always begs the question ' Why did the person that discovered this, do something that just totally does not make sense at the time?'
