Bumper Tail Lights

Hi all.
I want to modify my pajero's real tail lights in the bumper. See I replace lenses on them like crazy. They brake so easily. Even soft sand will brake them if you reverse and use the bumper as a scraper. Yes i know you are not suppose to but sometimes it is unavoidable off road.
What I am doing now is fitting these round led lamps they use on trucks. You get two sizes and I have selected the 60mm ones. The question I have is does someone know if a brake and tail light must be under one lens or can I use two red ones. one for tail and one for brake next to one another. I have made two plates that is the same size as the original lens and powder coated them. each plate holds three lights. one indicator and two red lamps. They wont brake because they are cast solid in resin and if for some reason they do they can be replaced for about R60 each in stead of R1000(more or less) for the original.
Hope someone knows the answer.
Regards.
