ABS and stability control lights

I recently had a problem with my Pajero SWB DID 2003 ABS and stability control lights staying on. A Pajero workshop in Menlin, Pretoria did their magic with their computer but couldn't solve the problem. According to them, there was nothing wrong at all with the car and they couldn't find a reason why the lights stayed on.

A week or so later, a guy that drove after me for a while, stopped next to me in a parking area and told me that the back braking lights were not working. When I investigated the matter at home, I found a fuse has blown. I replaced it and the braking lights were fine again, but also the ABS and stability control lights!

Interesting that the workshop's computer didn't pick up the blown fuse. Also that a blown fuse could cause the ABS and stability control lights to stay on. Has anybody encountered this before?

Whenever a fuse is blown, something on your dashboard is likely to give you a warning. I think every fuse is wired through some component that will "alert" the dash.

there's a ABS fuse on the hood of the Paj, its yellow with a see through cover just check if the wire is disconnected or not, had the same thing with mine after 6 months of the light being on i decided to inspect every fuse of the car very consciously as the MUT II diagnostic tool showed nothing on mine.

peace :)
