I have searched but could not find anything. How can I disconnect the seat belt warning buzzer. I hate it if you just start to just reverse out of the garage just to get out again but need to put on your seat belt to not listen to the irritating sound. Please help.
Easy, in the Gen 4 at least
If you look under the driver seat, you'll see a pair of wires coming from the middle of the car going to a pressure switch (I presume) under your seat. There is a small plug. Just unplug and silence is golden
DISCLAIMER: P.S. I do not know if disconnecting that has anything to do with the deployment of the airbag in case of an accident...... and also am not planning on having one to see if the airbag works or not.........

Thank You for the reply. I was wondering about the effect on the air bag and I would presume the preasure swich would be critical to the working of the airbag, or maybe not. I would therefore prefer to locate the buzzer itself and rather disable that. But its a good start.
The buzzer is hidden under the dash near the steering wheel from my memory. Just a lot easier to get under the seat.
If you worried about the airbag you can go the route I tooked,
Went to the scrapyard and get a saftybelt catch and plug it in. The Pajero catch is a bit narower than most of the other brands on the market but 5 min on a bench grinder and it fit perfectly.

Thanks Jakes. I have friends doing that but I always use my safety belt while driving. My problem is the noise of the buzzer even if I just start the engine is not even driving yet. If I can get to the buzzer and silence that I will be a happy chappy.

I just used the existing buckle as a template and cut a buckle out of plywood. This lives in the console between the two front seats. Works fine.

Dave
just put the existing seatbelt into the buckle, then get into the car.
Basically you are then sitting on your seatbelt.

Marius,
Most cars only start complaining once you drive off - our new platkar is like that.
The problem under discussion is directly at start-up. If you turn the ignition and the belt isn't connected, then the beeper sets off. I sometimes like to open the door, stick the key in the ignition to open the windows and then crank the motor - all the while standing next to the car still chatting to my mate.
The Pajero system wants you to get in, fix the safety belt and only then fire up the motor. That is fine, except when you plan on getting out 10 seconds later to close the garage door.
Sitting on the belt also makes it near impossible to fix it without getting out of the car first. At least with a dummy lock, you can remove it and set the belt pretty quickly and easily.
