Gen3 Drivers seat malfunction

Hi All.

My 2003 SWB driver's seat has decided to stop working. It's an electrically adjustable, heated seat. It adjusts in every direction except for moving forward.

Has anyone had this problem?
Do I need to replace the motor or is it maybe just a loose connection?

The heated seat also seems to be faulty as it blows the fuse evertime I put it on High for a few minutes. Perhaps related to the failure to move forward?

If anyone's got a used seat (in good, working order) that they want to part with I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Niel

Hi Neil

Do a search for 4ePikanini who I think had a similar problem with his Gen 3 a few years ago, IIRC it had something to do with the slide switch contacts being dirty, I think he just gave them a good clean with electrokleen and all worked??

Do a search for his post.

Not sure about the seat heater, sounds like a short in the seat somewhere. You might find a seat at a brakers yard, I know Barnetts have a few gen3's lying there in stikland cape town.

Good luck.

Found it!
Looks like a tricky job but not impossible.
Thanks again Nick.
