Good day all, Please may I have your guidance on an issue being experienced with the heater on my Gen 3 Pajero (2003). Driving home one night at the beginning of the "Rainy season" in Gauteng, I realised that the heater on my Pajero is not blowing any warm/ hot air. The aircon and blower seems to be working fine, just no heat... I have done numerous searches on the various forums but could not yet find an answer. The agents have never heard of this before either (sarcastic), but at a nominal fee will have a look and advise.
Found a user manual on the internet, advising that the sympton may be related to the malfunction of the air thermo sensor, remedy seems to be to replace the automatic compressor - ECU amd air thermo sensor assembly (?). That sounds expensive. Does anyone have any advise/ similar experience. I have checked the fuses and cleaned the pollon filter. The care does not have any issues otherwise, goes well, tempertaure guage is normal and it does not use or leak any water (checked radiator and filelr bottle).

Had same problem some years ago, same story nobody, agents esp, knew how to resolve.
If you are somewhat handy it is reasonably simple.
The centre console has to be removed, I don't remember exact sequence, and in it there is a PC board with the heater knobs on the outside.
You will see a small section of pipe which actually sucks the cabin air over a sensor which measures the cabin temp.
take soft cloth and gently wipe all dust off sensor.
Whilst all is open, good idea to give a general dusting.
when putting PC board back ensure that the small pipe engaes with the section at rear of board position.
Box it all up and Viola, should all be OK again.
Note for good temp control set temp at 22 degrees n switch on aircon as and when required.
The warmth will be automatically regulated.

I will definitely try it this weekend. I hope this will resolve the issue. Once drove a Hiluix for 2 years without a heater (because of faulty/ leaky heater radiator that was bypassed). Do not want to do that again this winter in my Pajero.

Based on your description it seems to be the Thermo sensor.
