Hi All
I have recently bough a Pajero 3.2 Did 2006 model with 225000km on the clock. Would never have considered this if the vehicle did not have a full service history and all interior and exterior components being spotless.
However, I did not realise how difficult it is to source after market parts for a Pajero.
As I would like to replace all wheel bearings and the break discs I have been phoning around and everyone keeps telling me they can only get front wheel bearing the rears are unavailable, does not even give me an option to order.
Anyone replaced their wheel bearings recently?
Many thanks
I find it hard to believe Mitsubishi would have a bearing manufactured just for their rear wheels of a 4x4.
If you can obtain the shaft and housing diameters, and the width of the bearing, I feel certain you'll match it.

They are definitely available. I know a guy replaced all his bearings lately and didn't get any of them from the dealers.

Why do you want to replace bearings?..I am asking because those are very tough and should last very long. My own 3.2 04 model was replaced at 70 000 ..by agents...later turned out to be tyre noise...bearings now at 240 000 no issues. Discs should also be ok if measurers within spec....again ...friend of mine bought 06 3.2...bad shudder on breaks turned out to by tyres!!. These 3.2's are tough and in most cases will tell you when it needs serious maintenance. The shudder could also be back discs that needs a scim..much less expensive than new discs.I learned the expensive way so gladly share my experience. One aspect worth checking is the companion shaft clips on rear differential although that might have been sorted on your model...enjoy your Pajero!

I have replaced my rear hubs on my Gen3. Phone Masterparts here in Cape Town, they bring in aftermarket rear hubs, the bearings are not loose/replaceable. About a grand each hub I think, still alot cheaper than the R2.3k ea the stealers charge.

Hi all
Many thanks for the feedback from all of you.
For the record I managed to find the wheel bearings at a company called Top Class in the east rand. Less than half the price of the dealers, where the dealers is asking about R2500 per set.
Thanks for your feedback Jaco I'll assess thngs first before replacing the bearings.
Cheers guys

Hi Indiana1005
Do you perhaps have the part No. for the bearings you got from Top Class as I contacted them for rear bearings on my 2000 Gen3 and got a quote for R3900+ for one. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx
Charles

Hi
The part number for rear w/bearings is LMR 418 068.
The quote I got was for R2040 per set where the agents ask R2400 for one bearing.
The reason I started this post is that availability is a concern to me, because Top Class mentioned to me that they had one set left(my quote). Once the stock is finished all is dependant on the imporation.
Sorry I could not be of more help.

Try Masterparts in Cape Town. You will probably almost get two hubs for the price you quoyed above, you just need to courrier to you in joburg /or wherever you live??Indiana1005 wrote:Hi

Hi Indiana
You are a great help, as the part no. they gave me over the phone at Top Class is not the same as you gave me now. I will contact them again when I have a chance, and will also contact Bearing International with both part no. I have now.
@ Mr Gibson, I have tried Masterparts before and they gave me a quote of about R250 per side, wich tells me that it is the bearing for blister fender maybe. I will try them with the part no's I have now and see what they say.
Thank you's for all the help.
