Take note of BFG warranty in SA

Hi fellow Paj owners.
I had the experience with a set of BFG 265/65x17 AT that 2x of the tyres would not balance properly. (they were the spare on my trailer and Paj) This only started after aprox 20000km and being rotated twice. These tyres started doing heavy chunking aswell. Nov last year I met the Michelin rep at local dealer (Michelin importer for BFG)and he said sorry according to the sidewall date these tyres are over 5yrs old, and therefore no claim. The tyres then 5yrs and 4 or 6months old. I bought 8x tyres in Dec 2009 after purchasing my Paj in Nov 2009. (unfortunately cannot find invoice).
Accepting my fate, I had a look on BF Goodrich website as he told me a "new" AT is coming next year and vastly improved on the "chunking" BFG are known to do.
To my surprise I then see on their warranty that BFG comes with a 6yrs warranty. Took this up with Michelin, however they stick to their 5yr local warranty. So it is evident that we in SA get screwed out of 12months of warranty. Not as if BFG is the cheapest tyre on the market.
I'll be looking for new tyres in near future, definitely never BFG again!!
