Morning all,
Hope I am posting in the correct forum, but I would like to know did the second generation Pajero's come with a coded key?
I have a 1997 model and got mine only with one key and want to have a spare key cut.
Thanks in advance

I have a 98 Gen 2 and had the same problem - one key. The locksmith said its a coded key (to rip me off) but I had one cut just in case i lock my keys in the Pajero and it works fine. Even if the key is in the house, so I don't think it has a coded key cause mine hasn't got one.

Thanks for the input.
Does it also start the vehicle?
If that is the case, i will be doing that today cause i feel a little nervous having just the one key.

Hi
Yes it starts the Pajero and opens the door. The original key doesn't even have to be close. So that proves to me it is not coded.

Yes just a normal duplicate for about R30 or R40 and not a coded key for about R1000.
