I see there has been recals in a few other countries on the 2007-2014 3.2 DiDc Pajero where they replace the timing chain tensioner. The vin numbers I have seen does not seem to indicate SA models thus far but I can't believe that we could have special different tensioners to the rest of the world so it might still come or has been done already? Does anybody know if such a recall was done already in South Africa? As I recently bought an older gen4 second hand I am keen to find out if any recalls are outstanding on it. Dealers close to me are an Imperial multifranchise and Mitsu are not getting the service it deserves so asking them won't help a lot.

I sent my VIN to Mitsu and they confirmed my car is not part of the recall. There's a thread on the 4x4community site.

No, you need to email your VIN to Mitsu customer care and they will respond yay or nay. I am not at work otherwise I would post the e mail address. Try Google.

send Yongama Mbobo "ymbobo (at) ronnies (dot) co (dot) za" a mail with your VIN asking if he can check on the EVA system if there are any recalls for your model.
