Hi All
My 2003 DID Pajero Gen 3, fitted with a 125 Amp alternator, needs a set of brushes, they are integral to the regulator and although priced over R2000, McCarthy's does not have any.

Questions.
1. Anyone know of and where to get brushes...maybe from another manufacturer, which i can fit?
2. Anyone have a spare alternator lying around and which is for sale?

My experience with repairing alternators & starter motors is that the auto-electrical outlets work off samples only, quote them a Bosch/Denso part number or vehicle description and you get a blank stare...

See if you can take the offending part/unit to them for it to be matched up. Diesel electric, Probe Corporation, Trysome (in CT), MotoLek, etc.

Otherwise see if you can find a second hand alternator to use while you have your one refurbished, or cough up and buy the new part from the stealers.

I tried the Stealers first....no stock.
I will make a plan to fit brushes from another vehicle.....it is the regulator i cannot make a plan with.
I would like to buy a second hand alternator as spare...but nobody has....going to try some "scrapyards " today.
