Check your ARB bumper fitment

Hi everyone,

Had this unfortunate incident when I returned from Moz. Seems by ARB bar was fitted incorrectly by 4x4 Mega (apparently no proper fitting instructions came with the 1st Gen4 bars) They however stepped in and fixed almost everything apart from my one spotlight that got damaged.

I saw this on the 4x4 forum. I'm glad you got it sorted without too much pain.

Yes, I got off quite lightly. Only need to pay the odd R 400 bucks for the damage to the spotlight trimring.

I still don't understand why the original ARB mounting brackets are made from 3mm steel as to the Hi-Lux that get fitted with 5mm or have guzzerds welded on the 90 degree bends :?:

Are you saying the brackets tore? I have recently tried to refit my old gen3 ARB onto my gen4 and must say those brackets with the bolts when fitted properly looked pretty sturdy to me. I would think the chassis would probably break before they do.

Glad you got sorted by the fitters. It is the least they could do if they did not make the effort to get the fittong instructions in the first place and fitted it properly.

Yes Christo, they tore off at the 90 degree bend.

HECTIC!

For reference. Here is the mounting instructions of an ARB bar on a gen4 Pajero. Yours seem to be missing step 56, but I don't know if it would have helped at all.
