Poor headlight performance from 2014 LWB Pajero
Hi Guys.

Does anyone else feel the DIM level of the headlight is not sufficient for driving safely at night?

Driving at night I have to switch on the fog lights to have clear and safe vision.

I have to mension that the BRIGHT level is sufficient.

I am trying to determine if it is my particular vehicle or a general symptom.

My reference is a CR-V and Amarok. Compared to these vehicles my specific Pajero cannot compare and before I consider a trip at night I will need to address this challange. Hopefully with an adjustment since it is under maintenance plan. I simply cannot believe that a vehicle with such a good record and years of development will struggle with a fundamental problem like poor headlights?

Groete.

My first stop would be to fit Osram Nightbreaker bulbs.
Pricy and cant vouch for how long they would last but they are bright compared to normal Hella bulbs.

I assume you have a GLX model? The GLS and Exceed models are equipped with HID lights on the DIM setting and I must say that I have found them excellent.

If you do have a GLS model then I think something is not working as it should. If you have a GLX model, which are fitted with Halogen globes, I would also suggest the Osram Nightbreakers globes, after I had made sure that the lights are focused optimally. The Nightbreakers give a much more cleaner/whiter light without too much extra heat, but they do not last as long as std globes so be aware of that and carry spares. Don't go overboard on globes that produce too much heat, as there are well documented cases of the plastic light cover "crazing" due to possible additional heat exposure.

Pull up against a wall and check the focus point of the lights while on Dim, could be the alignment that is too close.

Hi there

Did you ever get the headlight issue sorted? If so, what did you do?

I am struggling with my Gen 4 headlights too.
