Thump!

Whenever my Paj traverses someting like a speed bump or smaller hump where the left and right wheels reach it simultaneously, there is an audible thump from the front and rear.It is much less if I traverse at an agle doing the same speed.
When driving in the wet or after hosing the car down including wheels,it is a lot quieter.
I have changed the swaybar and gearbox mount rubbers (which were shot) as well as upper and lower balljoints in front ,and dont have clunking noises or squeeks when driving offroad or gravel.I have standard suspension currently.
I cannot see whether other suspension parts are worn.

1)Are there known culprits in the suspension which tends to fail, and how does one test without dismantling it all?

2)How often does the upper rubber front shockabsorber mountings have to be replaced? It was not changed when I had the shocks replaced and dont know how much it will contribute to a seemingly hard ride over small irregularities.

Do you get the same noise when you brake or accelerate ?
It sounds like the same problem I have. After much fustration and money replacing parts, it was diagnosed as the bushes in the upper and lower control arms.
You cant buy just the bushes from Mitsu, you have to buy the complete control arm. There however other places that sell control arm bushes

Hi DB,
no there is no noise like that during acceleration or braking.
I am wondering if water quiets it down , if one can lubricate the offening part once it is found.
