Electrical failure 2001 GLS SWB- 218 000km

Hi, my beloved and reliable paj woke up with a dead battery yesterday morning. I put it on trickle charge for the day and over night and then put it back in. When connected and the ignition is turned on, all of the electrical features come on at once ( all lights, window washers, indicators etc ) but she will not turn over. Any thoughts on what the problem could be or better yet, what the solution is? Some guidance would be appreciated guys!

make sure you didn't connect the battery the wrong way round.

If it was me: I'd try a new battery first. If the problem persists, then one will want to look at the starter. Check connections, and if fine, have the starter checked out.

Well- somewhat embarrassing

. I had the battery back to front and connected the wrong way... all I can say in my meager defense is that work and time pressure may have had something to do with the monumental brain freeze that occurred this morning.... and I even made a mental note to be sure not to do that.... seems no harm done except an unnecessary call out fee to the towing service which was already there when I arrived to double check it and a fuse or two...whew....
