I was playing in the dunes of Macassar and I think I hit a branch and it unluckily pierced the outer boot. The one on the wheel side. Well whatever happened caused the outer cv to come loose. Then when I needed it most, I lost 4x4.

It was a bit of a mission getting out again.

However, what's more of an issue is that I am doing faces of the Namib over December and the dealers do not have any parts.

This is it as I am disassembling it.



Where it went horribly wrong. Had to spend the evening here. +1 for heated seats!



The part number for the entire assembly is MR453383

Any ideas please?

Ok, removed the offending shaft.

Half the carrier cage has disappeared. The rest doesn't looks too bad.





Where it happened

I would look for a good CV & driveshaft centre. If they are big enough they might have some spares that they can use to rebuild your CV. Alternatively try Martin in Pretoria (mentioned on this and other forums) for a second hand unit.

Ok, found a second hand one from Truck and Bakkie spares, Kraaifontein.

I'll get my buggered one reconditioned so long, and put it back in once done.

Make sure those teeth for the abs doesn't get damaged. It will cause havoc with traction control
