Dear all.
I am very new to this forum.
I own a Mitsubishi pajero 3.5 v6 1998 auto.
Due to no knowledge about these vehicles, it cost me dearly thus far. Be it as it may i just love this car and do not want to part with it.

If possible, can anyone give me a bit of advise.
In the morning on cold start the battery/alternator light stay on when idle.
When I drive off after a few minutes idle, I need to hit on the accelerater a bit in order for the battery light to shut off. Immediately when the light shut of I hear a whistle sound coming from the engine bay.
The sound don't last for long though. May a minute or three than sounds normal the whistle is gone.
Any info is highly appreciated before I take the car to an auto electrician.
Thanking you in advance.
Regards.
Hugen

My take on it.
Once your battery light goes out it is the indication that your alternator is starting to charge the battery and thus draw power from the engine. The noise you hear is the v-belts that might be on the older side and making the squeaking noise until warmed up.

MAny thanks for your reply on my alternator light defect.
Yes it was exactly the situation all belts changed and adjust.
Pulleys were quite fine so no need to change them.
Once again thank you.
Regards.
