I'm facing 2 issues with my year 2001, long gen3 Pajero Di-D 3.2.
The first one is related with the ABS brake system. With the ignition turned ON, even with the engine OFF, the Power brake accumulator (black ballon) doesn't stop working. Only stops for about 2 seconds and continues working. The cycle is always the same, works for about 2 seconds, stops for about 2 seconds. If the engine is working, the symptom it's the same.
Is this related only with the accumulator? If yes, by replace the accumulator the issue will be solved? Where can I buy it?
The second issue is related with a noise wich seems to be from the rear transmission. This happens when I speed up in full throttle, or even with slow throttle, by right turning the wheel mainly on climbing road, a strange noise can be eared from the back side of the vehicle.
This behaviour might be reduced if the 4x4 traction is turned on and if the car is fully loaded with weight, the noise will disappear.
Is there any help on this?
