Squeaky rear door seal
Hi

I've not posted for a long time and hope this has not been answered before!
I have a 2008 3.2D shorty.

Developed an irritating squeak on the rear door (even on tar ).

Is it time for a new seal or is it an adjustment the dealer should make?

Many thanks.

Hello saltydog.

Although it could be the seal due to age, try adjust this latch about 2mm “inwards”. Simply loosen those two funny screws enough to allow the latch to move by tapping with a hammer lightly. The latch only needs about 2mm forward movement to allow the door to close a little tighter.

If you move it too much then the door will be very difficult to close and open. Give it a try and see if that helps.

The seal looks reasonable. So I'll give it a try.

Many thanks

I also experienced the squeaky rear door and after trying everything, I found that the squeaking is actually cause by the the little round rubbers on the door.

I stuck felt floor protectors (for furniture legs) opposite each rubber and.....no more squeaks......

Observe the small white circles on the door and frame.......
