This morning going to Cape Town my Pajero did not pull like it usely does. Engine picked up refs fast but speed very slow to get to correct reading.
I suspect a clutch problem. Can one adjust the clutch and test before taking it in for repairs by dealers? How?
I use my Pajero 3500 for all my off road caravan towing and it must be 100% healthy if I can help it.
Your input required please!!!!!
It does sound like your clutch is slipping, but It's not simply about adjusting it. There could be a quite a few issues, ranging from the clutch itself, to the master/slave cylinders. Have you checked the fluid levels in the clutch reservoir? That would be my first check. The master/slave cylinders are easy to refurbish yourself....
Let me dig in my manuals and at least you can start with the pedal adjustment, but I would not be confident of this being the fix.
can you spoyt oil leakage from the bellhousing? You might have an oil leak on the main engine seal or input shaft seal on the gearbox that contaminated the clutch.
