Pajero Owners Club of South Africa

I was thinking of fitting bash plates under my Pajero and then got to thinking that whilst it is a good idea protecting against rocks it could be a bad idea. The reason being that grass could collect on top of the plates, combust and start a fire - Any thoughts on this matter guys ?
